It was with excitement and trepidation that the BRTC team headed east to the newish court at Wellington. We were well looked after by Danny and the team and were most interested in their newish court, viewing, changing and social facilities.
However we did not play well and, in short, were comprehensively beaten in every area of every match. Wellington's team was undoubtedly stronger and their youth and fitness trumped our experience. Despite sympathetic manipulation of the handicap none of our players was able to register a victory - we were defeated in a crushing manner. Only our enthusiasm remained undimmed and although we returned to Bristol chastened and a little deflated ........... hope springs eternal.
