On Saturday 26th October, we welcomed three members from Jesmond Dene and supporting family members for a weekend of singles and doubles. All of the matches were 3x6 game sets, with the third set starting at 3-3.
There were four matches on the Saturday, three singles and one doubles. All were hard fought, especially the first one between Louis Richards and Craig Swallow which went to five-all 40-all in the final set. At match point Louis forced for the dedans and missed, giving Craig time to place the winning shot.
Chris Willows and Trish Morris both put up brave fights but struggled against the opposition. The only victory for Bristol came from Angela Probyn and Bob Stacey who managed to win in two very close sets.
There were two further singles matches on Sunday morning before the visitors made their long journey north. Both went to three sets, with one to Bristol and one to Jesmond, making the final result 4-2 to Jesmond.
